Carson Springs Baptist Conference CenterNewport TNCampers On Mission ProjectEnd of Project ReportMay 26, 2018We finished the Carson Springs project about 4:30 PM yesterday (Thursday May 22), literally as their cleaning crew were moving in. Over the past three weeks, 19 COM members from TN, SC, AL, and GA put in more than 1420 hours to rebuild the interior of a lodge with 7-bedrooms, 4-baths, plus entry and kitchen. In addition, several trustees from the local county jail helped handle heavy materials and primed most of the interior walls. We were unable to complete installation of carpet tiles and baseboard. These will be completed after the busy summer season concludes. It was an exhausting but fulfilling three weeks and our work was greatly appreciated by the director and staff at Carson Springs who fed us well each day at lunch. This group had a big appetite!! Here are the attached BEFORE and AFTER photos. Ed Sandidge May 1 - 25, 2018Note: The conference center will provide one meal a day. Project DescriptionDormatory building with seven rooms and 4 baths. Move walls, install four new shower stalls and sink/vanities, install four new tankless water heaters, insulate walls, install and finish sheetrock on walls, install doors, trim doors and windows, prime and paint.
